Jennifer Sims

Jennifer Sims | Executive Assistant to Director/Office Manager

Brief job description

Work closely with executive director to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the CWF. My responsibilities include payroll, accounts receivable/payable, as well as other financial account management. I assist patients needing financial assistance for lymphedema garments, conduct free wig fittings for patients in need wigs through the CWF’s Wig Gig program and coordinate the Comfort Chemo Bag program for MCC’s newly diagnosed chemo patients. Also assist ED by collecting and preparing financial data and reports for board meetings, grant applications and other necessary reports.

How long have you worked for Cancer Wellness Foundation?

I have worked for the CWF since February of 2020.

What is your favorite part of working at Cancer Wellness Foundation?

I love working with the patients and getting them the assistance they need. While the majority of my position involves the day to day paperwork and account management of the foundation and not necessarily daily patient contact – I know my part in the keeping the foundation on financial track and organized record wise would negatively impact the number of patients we could serve or provide assistance to.

What is something you feel most people don’t know about CWF?

That we are a SMALL office team of 5 “go getters.” Each of us brings many unique talents to the table. It’s almost as if we are individual puzzle pieces that when put together make a strong team that gets the job done so we can take care of the patients we serve.

Fun fact about you

My husband and I are in the process of gaining our Alabama Wildlife Rehabilitator’s license through the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. We would like to open a small wildlife rehabilitation center with our main focus being opossums, deer, and raccoons.
